Nearly a mile of the Beaverhead River, a famous blue-ribbon flyfish venue, meanders through the property. Enjoy wade fishing directly from the Rod and Reel, check out a fishing boat for a self-guided trip (qualified fisherman and oarsmen) or schedule a guided trip with Montana’s best and experienced guides. Of course, if you’re just beginning, take a lesson on Eagle Pond. Rods & reels, flies, waders and everything you need is available for use at the R&R…check out the gear and practice casting and setting on your own time.

Pheasant Hunt in your private preserve and make memories to last a lifetime. Whether you are walking through the barley or up on the sage covered hillside the hunting never disappoints. The property has been planted and developed to create the best nesting ground for pheasants. After planting 750+ birds over the past few years, many are now native to the property and create a challenge for the advanced hunter and their dogs.

On Eagle Pond, enjoy a heated blind and wooden decoy rigs to draw in plentiful birds for a morning or evening hunt. The barley field is also a great place to enjoy the perfect blind and spread of geese decoys that will attract plenty of birds. If that’s not enough, enjoy the heated blind on the Beaverhead River where many ducks and geese fly in to enjoy the warmth of the water in the morning and early evening. Hunting on property or direct access to thousands of acres of BLM land, you can find plenty of whitetail deer and the occasional elk. Guided deer and elk hunting is available on property or nearby via reservation through Montana Bucks & Ducks.

Whitetail Ranch’s Five-Stand sport shooting range, provides the ideal professional grade shooting stand to learn how to shoot a shotgun or hone in your aim prior to a hunt. Bring your own gun, or rent a high-end shotgun or over-under in 12 and 20 gauge. The stand is equipped with three throwers with varying angles and automated wobbling and angle throwing. Enjoy participating or watching others from the picnic area and enjoy an after shooting cocktail at the firepit.

Enjoy paddleboarding, paddle board yoga, canoeing, kayaking, fly fishing, swimming or just laying out on the sandy beach.

Enjoy touring the back county’s nearly endless acres of BLM property with plenty of two track roads to explore with views over Dillon, Enis, the valley towards Clark Canyon reservoir or overlooking Lassond Ranch, owned by Rupert Murdoch.

Hone your axe throwing skills with our custom cottonwood targets and competition-quality axes.

The outfitters will provide you with high end binoculars and a professional grade camera with the ideal telescopic lens to see and capture the perfect shot of a bald eagle, osprey or red tail hawk. You may also capture the beauty of a ring-neck pheasant, or the many ducks and geese that migrate through the property. Of course it’s not just for the birds, there are plenty of wildlife to capture…whitetail deer, mule deer, elk, bobcat, fox and other critters may cross your path.

As part of the ranch’s 3+ mile walking/running track, enjoy off shoots into the woods and riverbank adorned with incredible art from Western America and local artists. Our walk offers both visual and acoustic pleasure.
